This page summarizes the main changes in the Grizzly Peak Century since 2007 and 2008. Even if you rode the Century last year, it's still a good idea to review the detailed information page.
New for 2010, some of Our sponsors will be providing free bike safety and performance inspections in advance of the century as follows.
The Missing Link provides free bicycle safety and performance inspections during their during normal business hours at their repair shop at 1961 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley, 510 843-4763.
REI Berkeley will offer a Free Bicycle Safety Inspection Clinic on Sunday, April 25th, from 11am to 12pm, outside in the bicycle parking lot. Join an REI bike technician to learn to perform a safety inspection on your bike. All you need to bring is your bike and tools. Location: 1338 San Pablo Ave. Berkeley, CA, 510 527-4140.

Also new for 2010 we have a listing of people seeking or offering carpooling to the Century. See our Carpool Finder.
While we have had massage services at the lunch/finish in the past, in 2010 for the first time we will be offering Free massage (tips accepted).
Parking spaces in the parking at the high school's parking lot have always been limited. In 2008, those spaces were reserved for carpoolers, but that didn't work well. We still strongly encourage you to carpool, but we will not be offering preferential parking.
In addition to the 73 and 112 mile routes offered in 2008, we now have a 104 mile route which uses an out-and-back segment after lunch. For more detail see the section on routes.
The overall closing time changed to 6:00pm in 2007. That's one hour earlier than previous years. We won't try to haul you off the course at 6pm (these are public roads, you can ride all night if you want!) but at 6pm our volunteers will be packing up to go home. A limited amount of SAG and cold food will be available after 6pm for stragglers.
That means you'll need to start early and keep moving if you want to complete the full century by closing time. For more detail see the section on times and time limits.
We're continuing changes we started in 2008 behind the scenes to reduce the environmental impact of our Century. Here are some ways you can help:
