Pre-Century Bike Checks

Some of our sponsors will be providing bike safety and performance inspections around the time of the century as follows.

The Missing Link provides free bicycle safety and performance inspections during their normal business hours at their repair shop at 1961 Shattuck Ave., Berkeley, 510 843-4763.

REI is sponsoring a Free Hands-on Bike Class: Fix a Flat, 11am at REI Berkeley on Saturday, May 5th: Join an REI bike technician to learn to perform a safety inspection on your bike. All you need to bring is your bike and tools. REI'll provide the expert advice. Location: 1338 San Pablo Ave. Berkeley, CA, 510 527-4140.

Sharp Bicycle will do a free safety and performance check of your bicycle in the weeks before the century during their normal business hours at their shop at 969 Moraga Road, in Lafayette, 925-284-9616.

Alameda Bicycle has two 15 year veteran mechanics that can provide a high quality service for your bikes. In the weeks before the century, please call for an appointment during their normal business hours (510)522-0070 ext 2, 1522 Park Street, Alameda, CA 94501.

1Free mechanic support during the century: Mechanics will provide free basic adjustments and repairs to century riders. Larger repairs are at the discretion of the mechanic. Don't expect a complete overhaul! Riders are expected to pay for materials and spare parts used.
