Let's be optimistic and hope that Emily gets to celebrate her birthday in March. If you missed that ride or want to do it again there will be a similar but not identical route this week. If the March 30 Tunitas Creek ride is rained out this ride is cancelled in lieu of the Tunitas Creek Birthday Ride raindate. After warmup to Woodside, climb Old La Honda Rd. Continue on to Pescadero for lunch. Stage Rd takes us to San Gregorio before the Tunitas Creek climb. Descend via Kings Ridge. If the weather is cooperative the beer garden may beckon. Sat Apr 5 3!/T/46 Bears'n'Briones, Moraga & Pinehurst

After a whole lotta messin' around, ride continues through Lafayette with another stop in Moraga, maybe at Si Si Cafe, maybe at Bianca's for refreshments. Then homeward up Pinehurts [sic]. Questionable weather or other acts of nature may cancel, call if in doubt. Plumbers especially invited; everybody bring your sense of humor. Chris Witt, chris dot witt at ed dot gov, (510) 548-5790

Sun Apr 6 2/M/100 and 2/TM/100 Berkeley to Davis
Meet 8:00 a.m. at N Berkeley BART for a prompt 8:10 departure. Or meet 8:30 at Spruce and Grizzly. Ride a delightfully flat route to Davis -- there are a few hills, but the farther we ride, the flatter it gets. Tandem-friendly, too. Tailwinds not promised, but are typical. Separate leaders for TM and M contingents. Eat while you pedal; eat at a picnic table in Winters; eat, drink, and be merry on the party train back to Berkeley. Note that we will have few and short stops in the first 70 mi --picnicing and partying are reserved for Winters and beyond -- so carry your morning caffeine on the bike. Bring at least two water bottles (or equivalent), BYOB, BYOC, and bring cash for your Amtrak ticket for the return. Rain or 20% chance cancels; phone leader by 9:00 p.m. the night before if any doubt. M group leader: Mark Abrahams, (510) 524-1294.
